Hewwooo! I’m Shadow 💙 — proud MuttMix ambassador and the face of The Shadow Project, plus very enthusiastic letter writer (I type with non-opposable thumbs and occasionally add nose prints… it’s called authenticity).
Sometimes humans need a little extra kindness. Life can be very serious, and we believe there’s always room for more hope, happiness, and tail-wagging joy. That’s why we offer Letters from Shadow — a free, personalised note written in my voice to celebrate your dog, your story, and the special moments that make your pup one-of-a-kind.
💌 What is a Letter from Shadow?
A Letter from Shadow is a cute, humorous, heartfelt message written especially for you (or someone you’re gifting). It can be:
- A welcome letter for a new adoption / rescue pup
- A birthday or “gotcha day” message
- A “just because your dog is amazing” letter
- A supportive letter for a pup who is nervous, healing, or learning confidence
- A gentle, loving letter for a family remembering a dog who earned their angel wings
Every letter is customised based on the details you share — the more you tell me, the more magical I can make it.
🐾 Is it free?
Yes! Letters from Shadow are completely free of charge.
No hidden fees. No extra biscuits required (although I do accept compliments and snacks spiritually).
✅ How do I request one?
To receive a letter, it must be requested at checkout when placing your order.
Please select/indicate that you’d like a Letter from Shadow and please email all the info I can use, to info@muttmix.co.za (Please make reference to your order number).
📝 What info does Shadow need?
The more info you provide, the better — even tiny details help me write something that feels truly personal. Here are some helpful ideas:
About the letter:
- Who is the letter for? (You / a friend / family member / a child, etc.)
- Is it for a special occasion? (Adoption, birthday, memorial, gotcha day, gift, “just because”, etc.)
- Is there a specific message you want included? (Encouragement, humour, comfort, celebration, etc.)
About your dog:
- Dog’s name
- Is your dog a rescue? Any background you know (even if it’s just “we don’t know much”)
- Favourite toys/treats (or favourite “not-a-toy” items… I won’t judge)
- Quirky behaviours, funny habits, silly routines
- Fun activities (walks, swimming, ball obsession, hiking, couch cuddles)
- Any special moments that make your dog your dog
Optional (if relevant):
- If your pup is nervous/fearful/anxious, what are you working on together?
- If your family has experienced loss (human or pet) and you’d like the letter to be gentle and supportive, you can mention that too.
